My kids really couldn't be proper New Yorkers if they did not appreciate Jewish food. For the first time I introduced them to matzo ball soup, I wanted the experience to stand out so several years ago I took them to Carnegie Deli in Manhattan. They loved it. Since then we just order matzo ball soup from Fresh Direct, a wonderful grocery delivery service in NYC. My daughter can't go more than 2 weeks without asking for matzo ball soup. My son has since lost interest in it. Maybe it's time to take him back to Carnegie Deli?
One of these days I will make myself make it from scratch. Here's the recipe I'd like to use:
